Female Owned Luxury Edit

Ahead of fashion month, we wanted to take a second to highlight our favourite female-owned fashion brands. Even though International Women’s Day isn’t until March, here at Style Concierge by Melody (being that we are female-run) we believe that the social, cultural, economic, and political contributions of women should be celebrated all year round. So, we feel that the best way to kick off the start of Fashion Month is to showcase the female designers that we should be paying attention to this season - here are our 5 female-owned brands to watch.

Khait

This New York label has established itself as a favourite with industry insiders looking for polished staples that goes beyond trends. Designer Catherine Holstein creates elevated classics to cherish forever – think fluid slip dresses, cosy sweaters and the perfect jeans.

Designer Theresa Ebagua’s brought Chelsea Paris to life through inspiration from her African Heritage. Chelsea Paris is the embodiment of luxury, creativity, and beautiful European craftsmanship. Further, this sustainable footwear brand only uses materials that are byproducts free, following an ecologically conscious production method.

Alighieri

Celebrating imperfection and vulnerability, Rosh Mahtani founded Alighieri to guide her through a dark time. Each fragmented talisman is inspired by Dante Alighieri’s own story of being lost in a dark wood. These beautifully crafted pieces of jewellery are sculpted using a spiritual and cathartic process, dating back centuries.

DeMellier

was founded with the vision of doing things differently: to design handbags that would make women feel empowered, made ethically and sustainably, while giving back to those who needed most. All of their pieces are crafted ethically in Spain or Italy using the finest sustainably sourced materials, and for every piece sold, DeMellier funds vaccines and treatments aimed to save the life of a child in need - creating bags with no compromise

Tibi

Growing up on a small island, curiosity brought Amy Smilovic to establish Tibi - encompassing the sweet spot between the masculine and feminine. It’s no wonder that her pieces have found a home in the most stylish of wardrobes. Tibi caters to women who are confident in their own style and understand fashion, her cult designs have become a favourite of celebrities and industry insiders and her classic style allows women to be creative in the way they wear her pieces.
